ABOUT CHEMISETTE RECORDS

Chemisette Records was first founded in 1964 by Baz Baxter and Ally McIntyre. Based in Norton Basset, Brakeshire, England, Baxter and Ally Mac, as he was known at the time, flew the notorious Tommy Histon over from the USA to record the label’s debut release.

Histon did record the album, titled ‘Kimono For Kip’, but destroyed it before it saw the light of day. Only rough demos of the songs remained. Or so everyone believed.

Fifty-five years on, and an acetate of the missing album showed up in Bill Goods' record collection. Psychedelic, motorik, acid-folk, space-rock, progressive - all are terms used to describe the LP. Along with haunting, beautiful, fragile, frighteningly brilliant and way ahead of its time.

Bill’s son, Danny, and Baxter’s son, Chris, have resurrected the label, and the debut release, scheduled for 2020, shall be Histon’s ‘KIMONO FOR KIP’, just as it should have been in 1964!
